This year I'm committed to creating intentional, quality, down time for myself. Back in January I started browsing crafty workshops and landed on an interesting 2-day class at Peters Valley called Zero Waste Backstrap Weaving. That had my name written all over it! My in-person event season has gotten off to a fantastic start! In case you missed it, I popped up at Anthropologie with my Montclair Made paper heart garlands, and introduced my Montclair Creative Reuse Project to the community at Montclair's Earth Fest! At Anthropologie I displayed paper heart garlands, delicate decorations made from repurposed papers like vintage sheet music, field guide books, and atlas pages. This Sunday, 4/28/24, I'll be vending with the Montclair Creative Reuse Project at a new event, Montclair's Earth Fest, from 12 noon to 4pm! In 2006, with the help of my daughter, I started collecting lost gloves, washing them, and turning them into dolls. Dubbed "gLove Story Dolls" by my mom, they feature button eyes and yarn hair. Over the years I continued to pick up a random glove here and there, but didn't have the same dedication to the project as I had early on. I still have a few dozen gLove Story Dolls, and nearly as many found gloves ready for their transformation. Now, 13 years after I started making them, I am rebooting the gLove Story Dolls!
