Handwoven Rag Rug
You know them, you love them! Classic rag rugs! Versatile, easy to clean, and long-lasting, my rag rugs are handwoven by me on my Ashford Rigid Heddle table loom in my home studio from my scrap fabric! Perfect to use as a welcome mat, mud room rug, meditation mat, or throw it in any space that needs a pop of color!
Inspired by my recent participation in a zero waste backstrap weaving class at Peters Valley, I am now obsessed with making these nostalgic rag rugs! I wind a cotton warp and dress the loom for each rug. I choose the materials intentionally so each rug has its own unique colorway. I knot the warp threads and cut them to a 3" fringe. These rugs are made to last for generations.
How to care for your handwoven rag rug: machine wash in cold water on delicate cycle and air dry, do not machine dry, iron with a hot iron while still slightly damp.
I've already washed and pressed each resilient rug so it's pre-shrunk when you receive it. It will be folded and shipped via USPS from Montclair, NJ.
This rug measures about 34.5" long (not including the 3' fringe) x about 19.5" wide.
You’ll receive the exact rug pictured.
