Acorn Collective Residency

Starting Sunday, September 1st, my handmade creations and vintage finds will be available locally at the Acorn General Store! The owners, Darya and Jacob, have created a one-of-a-kind shopping experience located inside their gorgeous, new general store at 41 Church Street. They describe the Collective on their website as "a vintage/artisan collective showcasing the best local sellers and crafters in apparel, accessories and home decor."  The shop's grand opening will be held Friday, September 6th, at 10:30am. The collective is located downstairs at the General Store and will be accessible during shop hours. The aesthetic of the store is sustainability...

ICYMI: CHB Eco Fair and Repair Cafe

Last Saturday I had a blast at the Charles H Bullock Elementary School Eco Fair and Repair Cafe promoting the Montclair Creative Reuse Project and making books from repurposed papers with the kids. It's a fun demo that I've done before. I brought materials to make mini books including a variety of papers, book cover materials like file folders in different colors, and supplies to decorate them like stickers, colored pencils, markers, and the most popular item, mini paper punches. In case you missed it, I popped up at Anthropologie with my Montclair Made paper heart garlands, and introduced my Montclair Creative Reuse Project to the community at Montclair's Earth Fest! At Anthropologie I displayed paper heart garlands, delicate decorations made from repurposed papers like vintage sheet music, field guide books, and atlas pages. I brought my sewing machine and stitched up garlands at the event. Midway through my scheduled time my friend Stephanie from Styled Blu arrived unexpectedly and popped up across from me! It was great to...

The MCRP at Montclair's Earth Fest

This Sunday, 4/28/24, I'll be vending with the Montclair Creative Reuse Project at a new event, Montclair's Earth Fest, from 12 noon to 4pm! I'm excited to introduce the project to the community at this hyper local event! I'm bringing select items for sale, a fresh batch of Boomerang Bags, and lots of energy to chat with folks about the Montclair Creative Reuse Project! Look for my booth in the center of South Park Street, between Bloomfield Ave. and Church Street.  More info on the Township website here. From the Township website:  "The purpose of Earth Fest is to promote...

Cycling Is My Passion

"Cycling is my passion". This phrase is delivered with deadpan perfection in the insurance company commercial and just thinking about it makes me laugh. But when I want to take a vacation in my mind, the imagery of riding off into the sunset on my bike is easy to access. I am openly trying to recapture my 13-year-old self on a 10-day YMCA  Adventure Camp bike trip from Portland, ME to Acadia National Park, a trip that truly informed my identity as a non-car-owning, casual-clothes-wearing, groceries-taste-better-when-you-carry-them-home-on-your-bike bike rider. Biking is my passion! Montclair is a bike community! Bike & Walk...
