In case you missed it, the Acorn General Store celebrated their grand opening recently. I attended the ribbon cutting and enjoyed meeting and chatting with BID members and the owners, Darya and Jacob. Jacob's statement during the ribbon cutting gave me goose bumps! I've been busy prepping for the return of Boomerang Bags Montclair Sewing Bees! This week, as part of Indie Arts Montclair Skillshares, our super fun Sewing Bees will be happening at the Cornerstone Montclair building, on the 2nd floor, located at 198 Bellevue Ave in Upper Montclair! Starting Sunday, September 1st, my handmade creations and vintage finds will be available locally at the Acorn General Store! The owners, Darya and Jacob, have created a one-of-a-kind shopping experience located inside their gorgeous, new general store at 41 Church Street. They describe the Collective on their website as "a vintage/artisan collective showcasing the best local sellers and crafters in apparel, accessories and home decor."  The shop's grand opening will be held Friday, September 6th, at 10:30am. Last Saturday I had a blast at the Charles H Bullock Elementary School Eco Fair and Repair Cafe promoting the Montclair Creative Reuse Project and making books from repurposed papers with the kids. It's a fun demo that I've done before. I brought materials to make mini books including a variety of papers, book cover materials like file folders in different colors, and supplies to decorate them like stickers, colored pencils, markers, and the most popular item, mini paper punches. All these materials came from my Creative Reuse Project stash!  The weather was great, the wind only sent us running after papers...

My in-person event season has gotten off to a fantastic start! In case you missed it, I popped up at Anthropologie with my Montclair Made paper heart garlands, and introduced my Montclair Creative Reuse Project to the community at Montclair's Earth Fest! At Anthropologie I displayed paper heart garlands, delicate decorations made from repurposed papers like vintage sheet music, field guide books, and atlas pages.
